Looking for an opportunity to grow your programming skills while building real-world software? Spider Strategies is searching for students to join our software development team in the summer of 2025 for a full-time paid internship experience. We use cutting-edge programming technology and development methodologies to build Spider Impact, a web-based application where we combine powerful data analysis with vibrant graphical visualization.
Requirements
This internship is geared towards students who have completed at least 2 years of course work in a computer science, computer engineering, or related program. You should have some experience programming with languages like Java, JavaScript, or HTML/CSS, but a willingness and aptitude to learn is more important than knowledge about specific technologies.
Like the rest of our development team, you’ll be working remotely, so good communication skills are crucial. Though we’ll be providing plenty of one-on-one guidance over chat apps, audio, and video, the nature of remote work means you’ll need to be comfortable working on your own.
We are only able to accept applications from US Citizens due to federal contracting requirements.
What you’ll experience here
Under the mentorship of our experienced software engineers, you’ll be exposed to a variety of modern server-side and client-side programming technologies, like Java, Kotlin, SQL, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. But don’t worry if you haven’t worked with all of this! We’ll provide the opportunity to learn, while also tailoring your assignments to your areas of expertise and interest. You’ll also experience various aspects of the software development lifecycle, like source code version control, test driven development, bug tracking, and code reviews.
Though the team is 100% remote, there may be opportunities for in-person mentorship, depending on your location.
At Spider Strategies, we value diversity and strive to create an inclusive environment. We strongly believe in providing a supportive environment where our team can learn from each other, while also empowering our developers to use their own creativity to solve problems.
